Ʌ M O R V is a design concept for unique desk lamp.

A fascination with stainless steel and organic forms gave rise to a desire to create an aesthetically pleasing combination of these two elements. The design of the lamp base is inspired by external fixators, as used in surgical procedures, as well as by organic forms found in our natural environment. The lampshade is intended to evoke a solid body during the slow melting process.

During the development phase, which lasted more than a year, we encountered a few obstacles in the manufacturing process. The lampshade was designed using procedural simulation with the help of 3D software and then 3D printed in resin through several iterations. The demanding shape, with its complex curves, was and remains a major challenge for 3D printing. At the end of this initial process, however, we now have a fully functional lamp with a unique design. I’m absolutely thrilled and would like to take this opportunity to thank all my friends who supported me in bringing this project to life. There will still be some optimizations, including adjustments to the shape of the lampshade to simplify the 3D printing process.
