FUGU 2 | Tui Cruises

Once again, we had the pleasure of collaborating with Sunrise Studio for TUI Cruises – this time for the 360° gourmet restaurant „FUGU by Tim Raue“ aboard the brand-new „Mein Schiff Flow“. At the heart of the project: six vibrant mandala animations, each inspired by an iconic Singapore landmark.
Our guiding idea was „Identity is not created by separation, but by connection“ – a concept we translated into visual storytelling: white color particles transform into vivid, colorful mandalas, telling a story of connection rather than separation.
The creative challenge lay in the details. Each mandala design had to be artistically compelling while remaining technically functional – serving as the foundation for complex particle simulations meant it couldn’t become too intricate. The result: reduced, abstract forms that radiate vitality without overwhelming the viewer. Another key task was the transition from a two-dimensional mandala structure into a complex three-dimensional object – fluid, organic, and visually coherent.
We delivered the entire content frame-accurately on timecode, output across six projection surfaces plus one central centerpiece.
